"You're not leaving me alone. You're not taking no for an answer. I think that qualifies for stalking if anything ever did but maybe you ought to ask your little girlfriend huh? I'm sure if you wait on our doorstep long enough she'll show up again." Her frown deepened at her own bitter words that stung her tongue just to utter. Weird, since she was a small girl she never had any issue being blunt or spewing whatever she wanted to without a second thought but right now, man, it was certainly tougher than usual.
The sadness in his eyes as he pleaded with her just about broke her but she resolved herself to remain strong... for the three of them. That didn't mean that she couldn't be truthful right? "I can't picture my life without you either." She exhaled quietly needing to look away so to remain stern in her stance. And it was true. Miss Independent loud mouth American was head over heels for the shy, reserved, polite English boy (now man). Oh how the 'mighty' had fallen. The girl who didn't need anybody certainly wanted to need someone. "But we need to do what's right here, especially for the uh..." Baby? It still felt weird to admit there was something growing inside of her especially something the two of them had created from their love. So, instead of saying it, she just rested her hand on her growing stomach. Gosh, she felt like she was about to pop.
He would do anything for her. Those words rang in her ears over and over making her feel like the shittiest person alive for making the decision that she had to. "There's a safe house. I can stay there. Call Rupert." The bodyguard she had slept with the last time she went into hiding? Of course she wouldn't do anything, and of course she shared that tidbit with Lucas, she and Rupert were still friends (and it was evident the much older man still pined for her even though she was with another). Still he was the best in his field and if Lucas was uncomfortable with the man's presence she had no inkling. She wasn't the best at picking up on most social cues. Lucas was the exception. "That way we're all safe until we figure out what's going on." Separated. That scared her but she knew she couldn't let it show. She had to wear the pants. Know the answers. Be the brave Gryffindor. And so she looked up determination and strength in those pools of chocolate. "We have to."

"What am I supposed to do? Let you walk off thinking I would actually even think of cheating on you? You're the only girlfriend I have. I don't see why you can't believe that." He wished he could give a piece of his mind to whoever had come to their doorstep, and to her work. That certainly not something he would have ever endorsed, and it was something that was actually somewhat scary. Having his home, the place that was supposed to be safe, almost invaded like that was unsettling. He had no idea how much this woman had been tormenting Amelia before this, but just the showing up at their home was not okay.
When it came to her, it was hard for him to hide his emotions. Especially from her. There were many other things he appeared almost stoic, but she was different. Before he had almost lost her when his father had almost killed her, he hadn't cried since he was still in single digits. And feeling as though he was on the brink of losing her again was just breaking him. "If you can't picture your life without me, why does it feel like you're prepared to walk away?" He was so confused, and just wanted to know why after all they'd be through she hadn't come to him to see what was going on. He had felt she had just dropped a bombshell on him that he hadn't seen coming. Of course he could understand her side, but he just felt hurt. "Of course we need to do what's right for the baby..." Part of him didn't know if he would be good for this baby. It wasn't as though he had a good father figure growing up.
When she said to call Rupert, he sighed just a little bit. She had told him about their past, but he trusted her, so after saying "Okay" he sent his patronus as a message to Rupert. It was really the only way he knew how to 'call' people. Amelia had been trying to teach him how to use a phone, but he had been struggling with that. Magic, well he could do that. "Hopefully we figure it out quick. I don't want to be without you for longer than I have to." Really he didn't want to be without her for a moment that he could be with her, but if this is what she wanted, what she needed, then he would stay away until the whole situation was cleared up. "I'm going to miss you Amelia." he said looking into her eyes. He needed to pull himself together. He needed to be strong so she didn't have to. She was the one who had to deal with the person who turned up on their doorstep. She was the one carrying their child. He needed to be the strong one.
"We can talk about this later, Lucas. What we need to do now is be safe. It isn't just about the two of us anymore." Not since they had went and managed to get herself knocked up. They were more responsible than that! At least he was. She still couldn't believe they had managed to get each other in this predicament. Of course it would eventually turn into a blessing but right now it just felt like a lot - Blame the hormones, the current drama, and the fact that they were about to be first time parents. It was enough weight for anyone to crumble under. "I'm not walking away. Ok? I'm trying to do what needs to be done. I don't have all of the answers but we have to do something here before something terrible beats us to the punch. We have to be careful for the baby. You want to make sure that they'll be ok don't you?" She knew that he did. Lucas tended to care head over heels for anyone that wasn't himself. Getting him to focus on their unborn child instead of her or himself was probably the best route to go.
He agreed that they needed to do what was right for the baby and she released a breath that she had been holding. At least he was listening. There was no time for them to cry on the street over their own confusion and potential lost. They had to do what was right. Lucas so easily cast a patronus which she watched fleet away with a frown. She hated that they were in this spot. It just wasn't fair. Why couldn't anything be easy? "Rupert will know what to do. He's good at his job." One of the best aurors in his field. Their once personal relationship aside she figured he would be able to separate personal from pleasure (perhaps she foolishly assumed as much) and she was willing to bite the bullet to keep her unborn child safe and out of any risk whatsoever. Her own body she didn't mind in the slightest. A baby? That she minded for sure.
"I don't want that either." She admitted seriously, looking at him from a short distance away neither of them budging. Alicia would want to know where she had been. It didn't take that long to get to the restaurant from her home - Even on foot! "I'm going to miss you too." She forced out doing her best not to allow her voice to crack. Gosh, they both needed to pull themselves together. They couldn't unravel already. They were still in front of one another for Merlin's sake! Her chocolate brown eyes looked right into his. Scared, sad, but still resilient. "I.... I guess I'll see you?" Oh boy. What now? "I love you." But would that be enough?
