starting in my heart
Coffee. Merlin, she needed coffee. Lots of it, and fast. She'd pulled the late shift at the bar last night and then some of them had gone out after their shift ended, and then when that bar had shut she'd ended up going back with one of the girls, drinking more, and then falling into bed together.
Okay. She was doing the walk of shame. Whilst very hungover.
She stumbled into the nearest coffeeshop and ordered two large drinks to go, both with extra shots in them, before leaving. It was too loud in there - too loud for her pounding head, and she had zero pain relief or pepper up potion to hand, but there was no way she was going back to the flat in this state until she was sure that Flora had left for work. She didn't fancy being greeted by her twin's disappointed face for the third time this month, thanks.
Being out on the street wasn't much better though, with people bumping into her - threatening to spill her previous coffee - and she bit back a growl. There was an oddities shop on the corner and she ducked in there, pleased to find it practically deserted. She took a sip of her coffee, sighing in relief as the hot liquid slid down her throat, and figured she'd better wander around the shop. It was quiet and imply lit, and her head thanked her for it.
As she wandered, the heel of her shoe caught on an uneven patch in the floorboards and as she stumbled, she regretted her choice of footwear, and not for the first time. She flung an arm out to steady herself, catching her elbow on a shelf filled of...she didn't know what, actually, but at least she was upright again, and the coffee hadn't gone everywhere, although some of it was pooling in the lid of the to-go cup.
She looked around, embarrassed and hoping that nobody had seen her. No such luck, unfortunately.
"What?" She snapped at the stranger who'd seen her mishap. "Never seen a girl trip before?"
