Camille chuckled. "Well, they're rather.." She started trying to put into worlds her Charms class this morning. "They're not the most experienced when it comes to magic" she trailed straightening her back and looking up at the clouds. "There was one First year who managed to execute his first wingardium leviosa," She smiled "but he levitated his classmates glasses off who then mistakenly levitated a book from the bottom of my book stack that was on my table and it toppled over" She rubbed her hands together and tapped her index fingers together. "Atleast they were able to practice their spellcasting whilst putting my books back in a stack." She finished. It was certainly never a boring day to be a professor at hogwarts especially when teaching first years, they most often make the funniest mistakes. You can't really blame them, especially if their muggleborn since they had no previous knowledge of magic, or if they did it was very sparse. Although there are some Purebloods that think they have it all figured out and fail. It's always funny how they try to make excuses for their failure.
She then turned her attention to Celyn and bobbed her head looking at him. "Hogwarts is pretty scenic." She smiled. "I bet you'd love the black lake too, we have various underwater creatures living there." Camille imagined the many creatures in the black lake that she's read about. She never dared dive into the lake herself. She wasn't brave enough for that. But it was fascinating reading about them and how they thrive in the fresh body of water.

"That's certainly something, do they do that often?" Celyn didn't mind children terribly himself until they were riling up all of the animals in the Menagerie. "Maybe it'll get better as the year goes on, though?" He imagine that the first years would eventually get the hang of their spell casting. They were only just learning the basics, after all. At least a bit of it was to be expected. "Did they get your books in order well enough? I imagine that would have been tricky." Maybe not for him, but for students who may not have had any chance to practice magic before in their lives, certainly. "You probably deal with this every year, though." It certainly took some strength of character to keep coming back to the school and going through much the same routines with the students each year. He did imagine that the changes in the personalities of her students between years made things interesting, much like him and his magical creatures. Each one was unique.
"I bet it is, though I'll probably always have a preference for the mountains." Celyn shrugged, it had been his home for so long that it would always have such a special place in his heart, a place that could never truly be replaced for him. "Black Lake has merpeople, right?" They were a bit more tricky than creatures like dragons and nundus, mostly because they were predominately humanoid - with their own language, even. It meant he was just a touch more cautious about poking his nose around them without preparation. Didn't want to end up with some incident on his hands.
Camille nodded. "they are rather troublesome and when they're getting better a new batch of young wizards come in" She paused. " Then again, I admire the determination that they all have to get better, I just have to steer them in the right direction is all" She said. It was true, no matter how much these young wizards messed up they always had that determination to get better and every year she's seen the same with every batch of first years that come. It was always nice to see how much they'd grow in the span of one year. Camille would sometime see them out in the hall practicing their charms and, as a professor, would feel fulfilled that they do actually practice their craft and that's what Camille really likes seeing. It was a very fulfilling job being a professor.
She laughed. She has not really seen the merpeople in the black lake but she has read about them and have heard rumors that there are. "I heard that there were." She didn't really see most of the creatures that roam around the premises of Hogwarts but she had read about them. She was never the adventurous type. She has read that they were humanoid creatures like Veelas are and she was rather curious how one would treat humanoid creatures. "How do you deal with humanoid creatures like Merpeople, or Werewolves?" She paused. "I mean being that their humanoid and such"

"Well, at least you always know what you're teaching, I suppose?" Celyn doubted he'd be able to repeat teaching much of the same content every year. Give him a new magical creature to get to know and learn all about any day. There were enough around the world that he might not even need to repeat in his lifetime, something that he would be more than happy with. "They can be rather determined and all bright-eyed and eager, learning all of the charms for the first time, which I'd say is a bonus." There probably was some fulfillment that came from seeing the first years cast a spell the first time and actually get it right, especially after days of classes. In seeing all the progress that they made throughout the year, until they were ready to move onto the next level. As much as he admired it, and most certainly saw the appeal - he'd never be willing to be dragged away from his magical creatures and thrown into a classroom to teach,
"I think I've heard rumors, and it's probably in some book - but I haven't gone to see them myself." Celyn shrugged, he had enough that he was wrapped up in that it wasn't much like he could sneak away, and be granted access to the Hogwarts grounds to get to know the merpeople. "Mostly how you'd deal with any other person, except with merpeople there's more learning about their culture." Since they functioned so differently from werewolves and quite a few other magical creatures, it wasn't like people could go down and talk to them so frequently. "It's easier to communicate with them, get ideas across and such. Though, there are the same issues that come with talking to any other witch or wizard." Something which made things quite a bit more difficult because Celyn wasn't exactly a people person himself to begin with, let alone with that added pressure.
Camille smiled. "It's very fulfilling" She looked down "It's not for everyone though" Camille could understand why some people who are excellent at their craft prefer not to teach. Some people might not realise it but teaching is actually a talent. Not everyone can teach. She'd have to make a note to ask Charlie why he wanted to teach at Hogwarts after spending years with dragons. Camille thought back to when she first started teaching it was rather awkward but she fell in love with it. There was something about educating the future generation of witches and wizards that that she took pride in. Especially when some develop really amazing skills, it's quite impressive. You wouldn't find out that they were the first year who poked his eye with his wand in charms class.
She paused and looked eagerly at Celyn. It would be nice to see him at work and all. "Do you want to go meet some merpeople at the black lake?" She smiled widely. Personally, camille knew she couldn't do it by herself. She was too scared to dive into the black lake. But seeing a friend do it might help her atleast wade in the lake and wait for Celyn to come up. She was rather nervous it was a straight forward question that might actually make her dive into the lake herself. She knew there were more than just merpeople in the black lake and the unknown really scared her.

"You could certainly say the same about magical creatures." Celyn could rather distinctively see the similarities, though at least his magical creatures at least seemed a touch or two more predictable. Then again, he'd probably have to do a bit more research before making such a definitive conclusion ... and basing all of his experiences on the kids that came through the store. Maybe he could start training them or something, a crash course before they were off to Hogwarts in how they should be behaving around magical creatures or something of the sort. It'd be something else to do, but he could pitch it as a way to draw business - if anything even came of the niggling of an idea. "I don't mind children terribly myself, though certain ones can be a bit of a handful." Something which he more than remembered from his days at Beauxbatons, even if he had never been involved. A bit too much of a book worm, and he had spent the vast majority of his time down in the stables.
"Well, maybe not today. I don't know much about the merpeople here, and it'd probably be better to start a bit smaller." Celyn responded, a bit put out. Still, he didn't want to put Camille at risk or anything since he wasn't so familiar with merpeople past the basics to begin with, let alone enough to go off and start diving in the lake. "We have a few creatures at the menagerie we could start with, maybe." He shrugged, it was best that he could come up with off of the top of his head anyway. "I don't think there's anything particularly safe in the Forbidden Forest otherwise we could try that." He wasn't familiar with the area yet enough to speak on it. Plus, he certainly didn't want to get into something with the centaurs, given their rather interesting reputation.
Camille nodded "They can be a handful but I suppose you'd do well since you also take care of rather precocious creatures" She looked at Gramr. Camille believed could probably teach Care for Magical creatures at Hogwarts. She had no complaints about the current professor of COMC though. "I could only imagine how busy it might have been at the menagerie when students were getting ready for class to start." She saw how excited most of her students were during the first day of classes and she could only imagine their excitement when they get into the menagerie and see all the creatures that they could actually own. Camille imagined how stressed out most of the creatures may have been to be exposed to so many young wizards who knew very little about how to handle them.
Camile sighed in relief. She believed that she wasn't ready for such a big adventure as diving into the black lake but maybe going to menagerie wouldn't hurt. She did want to have a pet to take care off. She chuckled hearing about the Forbidden Forest. She's been through there, once and in the morning when most of the creatures were in hiding. She didn't really see any dangerous creatures then and she was actually relieved that she didn't. Camille was an easily spookable person and when she was caught by surprise she immediately takes out her wand and most of the time cast a defensive spell. It was her reflex. "I think going to the menagerie would be fun, if it's not too much of a hassle." She paused. "I'm actually looking for a pet too."

Celyn shrugged lightly, "I think I'll just stick with my magical creatures, they're a bit easier to predict." Mostly because they were what he knew, what he had spent half of his life studying and getting to know in any and every way that he could. He admired people who could do it and everything, but dealing with the all of the negative parts of his own time at school wasn't something that he would ever want to do. It'd been a bit of a wild ride, and he was content to just hang around with his magical creatures and deal with people minimally - if at all. "Yeah, it's a bit of a madhouse before classes start, it's like hundreds of mini tornadoes have gone through the shop by the time they go back." Celyn less than appreciated the clean up at the end of every day those weeks but it had always been interesting seeing the first years coming in to get their first magical pets and all of excitement that came with that. The mild irritation was rather worth it.
"The menagerie is a rather magical place, most of the time." He'd probably just live in their if it wasn't a store and people weren't coming in and out of the place all of the time. Plenty of space for a myriad of magical creatures, which he'd be more than willing to care for. Maybe that was the home of his dreams. "I mean, I suppose we can go today, or some other day that I'm working." Celyn shrugged, it didn't make too much of a difference to him since he was off for the rest of the day, though he was a bit concerned that they'd rope him into staying for the rest of the day - not exactly how he wanted to spend his day off. "What exactly are you looking for in a pet?" That was probably a good place to start, all things considered.
"Well" Camille thought hard. "I like felines they seem mostly calm and grounded. Yet sometimes they can be aloof too" She smiled. She liked cats that aren't too needy for attention and rather independent. She particularly liked fluffy cats that were like fluff balls. They seemed rather cute but a bit high maintenance. The cat would of course stay with her in Hogwarts, given that she lived in the castle so She believes that her pet would get enough exercise. "I think I'll make a good cat owner." She said happily. "Especially since I can manage a classroom full of young excited and anxious wizards." Recalling back to her work. In fact, camille thinks the pet would help her more as it would be a de-stressor for her.
She looked at Celyn. "How many pets do you own?" She realized that he may actually own a lot of animals given his profession. It seemed just right that he did of course. Then again how does he take care of all of them? There were alot of follow up questions she'd like to ask him.

Celyn bobbed his head in a nod, "Yeah, cats can have their moments, though there can be a fair amount of mischief mixed in there." Something which had certainly complicated his life. "But I definitely think a cat might be good for you." Garmr required his near constant supervision but that was only because he was a full kneazle. Even a half kneazle or a muggle cat would be easier for her, a good thing considering that she had to deal with the kids and their ruckus all day. Better less trouble to deal with when she got back to her rooms than more. "Have you thought about a half-kneazle? They certainly make things interesting." Though they weren't for everyone, he expected that she might be able to handle it - and they'd be able to navigate the hordes of students more easily.
"I have quite a few, but most of them are only temporary since I foster some of them." Only when he needed to to keep things from getting too insane but enough of the time that his apartment was seemingly always overflowing with animals. "I don't have as many as I'd like because getting the permits is a bit hectic." Especially considering all of the magical creatures that he got to interact with at the menagerie. He didn't need to add more to his own menagerie at home.
