Carlyle is a Ministry man as in he works for the Ministry. He is fiercely loyal and hardworking, everything a Hufflepuff stands for. He fought bravely during the second Wizarding War. He served as an Auror and a new Auror recruit at that. In fact he was not even finished with his Auror training when the War had struck and enveloped him in all the madness. He fought side by side with his father against the Death Eaters and thankfully survived. He is a ministry man and takes his work very seriously.
He does, however have this funny lax side to him. Lyle is know to the the resident funny man of the Ministy. He can be rather immature and insensitive but he always means good. You just have to remind him that he's going too far with his words and he will automatically fold. He is "out to make the world a funnier place" as he would say but care about other's feelings but he is far from sensitive to them. He is a rather oblivious character when it comes to love especially in the romantic sense. His life revolves around familial love and he didn't really mind it.
Carlyle and Cora were in the same year and house by the looks of things! I can see Cora being one of the people occasionally having piped up and told him to stop whatever funny thing he was doing if she thought it was upsetting someone. She would have been in awe of him staying to fight (she didn't). Maybe they could meet up occasionally (or accidentally)?
That would totally make sense. Lyle would need someone to tell him enough was enough whenever he wa being insensitive. Lyle most likely knows Cora from Hogwarts being in the same year and all and given that he was head boy at one point.I could see them hanging out. Lyle could even tty to make Cora laugh most of the time

Ohh, he and Alicia might have known each other from Hogwarts, since they were maybe a year apart if in different houses. Maybe a club or something? I think they might be interesting to throw together given Lyle's humorous side, and Alicia's utterly unrepentant sarcasm and everything. No idea how they'd interact or know each other past Hogwarts, though.
Carlyle and Alicia Alicia Spinnet I think Lyle would actually be a former fan of Alicia especially back when she still played Quiddich, aside from them getting to know each other slightly in Hogwarts. I could see Lyle walking into her shop perusing the brooms and be like "HEY I REMEMBER YOU!" He would probably panic at first as he is a fan of her, and then slowly calm down once he realized that he had met her and had hung out with her a few times in school. I could see Lyle gravitating towards Alicia's sense of humor and appreciates someone would doesn't take his sometimes harsh and offensive jokes too seriously. Although I can see that Alicia is someone who can actually tell Lyle off on his sometimes too insensitive humor.
Alicia Spinnet - To be fair, Alicia would probably panic a bit too since she's waaay wary of anyone who has anything to do with her Quidditch career or anything now that she can't go back, so she'd probably be a touch irritated with that at first. Alicia can definitely be a bit much so she wouldn't be telling him off so often, but it sounds like their senses of humor would mesh well!
I could see Alicia getting irritated at Lyle because of insensitivity to the fact that Alicia can't play anymore. Lyle does have the gift of insensitivity in him ahaha
I think it's something that Lyle would have probably experienced way too many times. I could just see him walking into her shop and then turning a heel when he realized he made her mad
Yeah. Eventually she'd probably adjust to it, and having him prod at those emotional wounds (though that might actually help her get over it) ... and potentially hex him for the irritation.
