So Xander is in need of a baby sitter! In the last six months he's become the guardian of his niece (2 years old) and nephew (18 months), after his sisters were killed in an accident that's still undergoing investigation. He's also a werewolf and works full time behind a bar - suffice to say, he needs childcare in the form of someone who's available almost every night and doesn't mind crashing on his couch. The kids go to Xander's Ma for full moons, but other than that he does need someone to watch them when he's working.
Most important, though, Xander needs someone he gets on with. He doesn't have very many stable relationships in his life, and this is going to be one of them - and honestly, I think it would also be really cool to add a bit of romantic tension to the whole thing. developing feelings they don't want to act on for the sake of the kids, that kind of thing? I would imagine they've been babysitting for him for a couple of months already and so they're pretty used to each other - maybe they even make Xander food sometimes, just to make sure he eats?
Gender, age etc are all open! Just so long as there good with kids and not barely out of Hogwarts so Xander doesn't feel like a cradle-snatcher.
